Book Recommendation: "DON’T MAKE ME THINK Revisited," by Steve Krug

Cover of Don't Make Me Think by Steve Krug.

This book is SO helpful; we once considered making its reading a required part of any contract with us!

We never quite did that… but I still highly recommend it.

How often have you looked at a website and been unclear about its offering? How often have you been swamped by the amount of information on a home page? How often have you been unclear on where to go next… maybe searching around while rapidly getting irritated?  Do you know how to make YOUR website clear, informative, and effective?

My aim in recommending this book isn’t to suggest that you gain professional-level knowledge about website usability, layout, and copywriting. But I do want to suggest you can get the best work from any Web professional when:

  • You are an INFORMED consumer of services.

  • And you can WORK WITH your Web professional, so their work for you will be the best it can be.

The Web is constantly changing. The number and power of available tools have exploded in the last few years. But the fundamentals are still the same.  Krug’s book is of moderate length. It’s full of clear and powerful tips, while its light-hearted style makes the information easy to understand and digest.

So I recommend the book to you… with no motivation of gaining a buck by you clicking on these links :)
